I joined Flex World Fitness in January 2009. At that time, I was overweight and out of shape. The first thing I noticed about the gym was how warm and welcoming the staff and the other members of the gym were. Joining a gym can be very intimidating, but I never felt that at Flex World. My first night, I took the cardio bosu challenge class with Heidi; I was hooked. I consistently attended 2 to 3 classes a week. The classes are great for people who need that extra motivation; the instructors push you to a limit that you would not normally push yourself. There is such a variety of classes that you never get bored; there is truly something for everyone. A year later, I can say that I am in better shape now than I was in my twenties. The gym is like a community of friends that are there to help you meet your goals. Joining Flex World Fitness is the best thing I have ever done for myself.

When they say lifestyle change, I really didn't have a clue when I first started working out, I just knew that I didn't want to be fat anymore. After progressing from weight training, to spinning, to TRX, to Flex fitness and now I'm also going to do zumba. I'm still big but my diabetes is good, my cholesterol is down and my blood pressure is great. My doctor told me it will take a while for my metabolism to adjust but to keep doing what I'm doing.Aand I will because I feel incredible! I enjoy challenging myself and watching the small improvements add up over time, it really is a lifestyle change and I'm definitely the healthiest big man at the gym!

I am so happy Flex World came to Georgetown! I never thought of myself as a “gym person,” but I’ve been going for over two years now and I love it! The staff is friendly and always willing to help. The classes offer lots of variety and help keep workouts from getting too predictable!

I joined the gym in October 2009 severely overweight and out of shape. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and motivating which is exactly what I needed to keep coming back and build some momentum. Paul especially was a huge help to me with motivation talks. It is October 5, 2010 as I write this and I've lost over 140 pounds since the day I started at the gym and couldn't have done it without all the support of Paul, Heidi and the rest of the great staff.

I've been a member of Flex World since June, 2010. I'm 51 years old and never thought of myself as a "gym person" or athletic in any way. But I saw a flyer for "Fit Over 50" and decided to check it out. What I love about Flex World is the diversity - so many people of different ages, sizes, shapes - because of that and the welcoming attitude of the staff, I simply feel like I belong. I'm not setting any records as far as weight loss, but I've lost quite a few inches on my thighs and arms, my cholesterol is no longer borderline high, my posture is improved, I sleep better at night, and I went whitewater rafting (something I wouldn't have done). So if you think you're not a gym person, but haven't been in one for years, give Flex World a try!
